Description
The Colombian myth of El Hombre Caimán tells the story of a man who sought out a shaman in La Guajira for a potion that would allow him to spy on women bathing in the Magdalena River. One day, the friend who usually helped him was unavailable, so he asked someone else to assist him. The task was to pour a second potion over him to return him to human form after leaving the water. Startled by his appearance, the friend dropped the potion, only managing to splash part of it on his face and neck, leaving him with the head of a man and the body of a caiman.
The design features the Hombre Caimán, the women he used to watch, and organic shapes with small bubbles representing the waters of the Magdalena River. Text elements within the composition reference fragments of the original legend.
